PBIS Training Sequence

PBIS is a process, not a program. So, the length of time it takes differs for each school. Schools typically take between three and five years to move through the PBIS sequence outlined below. And, while most schools see results in the first few months, it can take far longer to completely shift the climate of a school.

As you move through the sequence remember, PBIS is not something you "finish." It’s something that becomes part of the way your school operates. And, it’s there as a resource for you in the future. Behaviors change over time. PBIS gives schools the tools to adapt to those changing needs. More information on each of these trainings can be found in Wisconsin RtI Training and Supports.

Tier 1/Universal

In tier 1 school leaders build the foundation for PBIS by forming a school leadership team and setting expectations for behavior school-wide. Often, schools will see an improvement in 80 percent of students as they implement tier 1/universal practices.
