My name is Kent Smith and I am excited to be a part of the Wisconsin PBIS Network! I have been a part of the Wisconsin RtI Center since 2010, first as a trainer then as a Technical Assistance Coordinator. Currently I train and support schools building their culturally responsive multi-level systems of support and my areas of emphasis are PBIS and Culturally Responsive practices.
I was a school social worker in the Eau Claire Area School District for 12 years and with Marathon County Special Education in Abbotsford school district for a couple years before that. I came to school social work and PBIS after an earlier career in Child Protective Services (abuse investigation and court disposition) and in-home family therapy and wrap around facilitation.
